A Day at the Pier

Last week we went to Navy Pier, to check out the river as it was just starting to crack apart (and soon melt away).

We love the Children's Museum and always have such a great day together when we go there. First, a sound artist installation.

And more fun with sound here.

We built a playhouse.

We rode the ferris wheel, even though Otto was so scared, he didn't want me to take any pictures. I learned that as I was taking this one, and he asked me to put the camera away, as he needed to close his eyes and have my arm firmly around him. Thus, you will not see any pictures of the amazing view from the top of the wheel. Trust me, it was very cool, but it also made me feel nervous too, so I completely complied with Otto's request.

From below, where we all felt a lot safer.

Back in the museum, it was time for games.

And our last stop, our favorite spot, the My Museum exhibit, where we always make a few sculptures.

Here is Otto's sculpture of a baby.

Max made a Jango Fett.

Max then made a baby also.

For some reason, I always make people with piercings. It's fun to make all these details with the clay.

We left the museum at closing time (we are almost always among the last people there). We had a quick dinner, and then we went to the IMAX showing of Under the Sea, where we oohed and ahhhed at all the fascinating and beautiful creatures that are living below the surface. We definitely recommend it.
