Botanic Garden

It was a nice spring day, warm, partly sunny, partly overcast. It made for a perfect day to be out and about. We went to the Botanic Garden to soak it in. As we pulled in, we realized our friends Kelly, Isabelle, Amelia and Truman were also looking for a parking space. It was such a nice coincidence, and we ended up spending (almost) the whole day with them. After a short break while they ran off to Navy Pier for a couple of hours, they came over to our house for dinner and playtime.

Look at these pretty flowers on the bank (and their reflections in the water).

We played by the fountain.

Truman tried to help out the garden staff.

Jibbitz jabber.

I want this tree for my garden.

The whole Shultz family.

Kids on the run.

The Shultzes came over for the evening, we ordered pizza and made chocolate beet cake. We played a bit in the garden, a bit in the house. Max and Otto were so excited to show them everything: there were several costume changes, loads of magic tricks, some music performances. They pulled out all of their bird stuffies (stuffed animals). They got out the trains, the spy gear, the matchbox cars, some Legos. It was kind of a frantic but fun two hours.

The Shultz family left at 9:30, and now, one hour later, both Max and Otto are asleep on the floor, totally exhausted from a very fun day.

What a parent!?
On the computer.
The TV blaring.
The neglected children asleep on the floor (without brushed teeth!)

Yeah, I concur with the Martin fellow. And to put beets in their chocolate cake!?!?!? That's just bad cricket!
