We astonished even ourselves by getting up and out, pulling away from the house at 5:35 a.m. By the time the sun rose, we were well out of Chicago and making good time.
We listened to a whole slew of CDs we got at the library, and I sewed more birds while we drove. We arrived at my parents' house at around 3:30 in the afternoon. No one could believe it. David and the boys were only just leaving their house in Knoxville, expecting to arrive at around the same time as we would.
Max and Grandma made hot chocolate.
The dogs were very interested in our dinner.
We were too.
The boys spent much of their time together like this.
