Paper Crafts and Wood Work and Pie

We went to the Art Institute on Saturday for their Family Day. Started out with some paper crafts.

Did some life drawing.

We also toured a couple of the special exhibits there, including one on Impressionism and Fashion, which paired paintings from Monet, Manet, Degas, Caillebotte, Renoir and Seurat with many examples of clothing from the mid 1800s (often the paintings seen side-by-side with the dresses worn in them). We were still high on our Steam Punk weekend at the Renaissance and could easily see how many of these dresses and suits could be modified with some goggles or a light bulb or two. It was pretty fun to connect the two events.

On Sunday, we had a "work around the house" day, which included a trip to Home Depot for Max and Martin.

The boys helped build a stairway plant display.

We treated ourselves to afternoon coffee and pie at the Bang Bang Pie Shop.
